It stank like an old tom cat sprayed the box! That stuff is rank! Yeah, best advice I can give is the pre-soaking of the clutch discs, that advice was given to me very strongly by a local DGL authority. That and changing the lubricant frequently to avoid contamination issues, esp. if riding in 3...
sorry, no pics this time. There are 2 large spacers that go on each side of the locker, each spacer has an offset shoulder inside, so theres a deep and a shallow side. I ended up milling the one side of one spacer even with the inside shoulder, i believe it was the shallow if memory serves...
Ok, while this has turned into a thread directed towards the newer 450cc auto, this was originally about the old 350cc manual.... dont get me wrong, I'm not bitchin, just wanted to post that I did purchase the DGL for my '04....it didnt fit. But...
A quick visit to the machinist and they...
Yeah, just remember that Mikuni jets go by different #s than DynoJet or HMF, so when aftermarket kits "recommend" 145, its usually thier own brand. I ended up buying a handfull of spark plugs and a couple bigger jets, did a few runs and inspect the plugs if its lean or rich, basically trial and...
Gonna have to change your title to Pickton, move out to Port Coquitlam.
I'll challenge your squatters rights according to the Carnie Code, just gonna have to find a patsie to take more pics, I'm to busy workin the 350 through the 'skeg to play with a camera lol :D
It allows the engine to make a few hundred more rpm before engaging. Since the bottom end torque of the 350 leaves alot to be desired it'll allow you to turn the tires in deeper mud before bogging down, or make up for power lost by running a larger set of tires. You'll notice it seems to 'lunge'...
Its a straight forward install, I think it took me around an hour, and I was taking my time. All the instructions should be in the box that the springs came in. From what I can remember, you gotta take the right side cover off of the engine to gain access to the clutch pack. I stood my bike up...
Adapt Racing (Adaptracing.com) did the graphics for FST's 350, except there isnt anything on thier site about it (got the info from Sept '06 issue Dirt Wheels- FST 446cc Wolv. 350 w custom IRS). I dunno who makes graphics for the 450s, though. Just looked through some magazines, oddly enough I...
All of the dash indicators are "hot", they dont turn on by being grounded negatively like the rest of the electrical system, they turn on by being grounded positively. My guess is that when the system shorted if probably fried something there, too. I'd pull the front plastic and dashpanel off...
Was it acting like this before you cut the park brake wire, or has it been cut for a long time and just started to bog? Dont wanna sound like an @$$, but is the choke button pulled out? And its full of fuel, petcock is in the 'on' position? Did you try it in the 'reserve' position? The stock...
Your missing the exhaust crush gasket. When I replaced my stockpipe with the Supertrapp, I tried to reuse the original one. Ended up blowing out , you need a new gasket with a new exhaust. Yamaha P.N. 3YF-14755-00-00, they call it a silencer gasket. I paid about $10.00 CDN this spring for it...
