I will take a few and if you pm me your email address, I can send them to you.
No cracks in the plastic but it's faded.
My dad lives in Okatie so I could bring it out there the next time I'm there. Figures, we were just there 3 weeks ago. I could even send him home with it if he comes to...
'87 Warrior.
I have gotten to the end of my rope with this quad. Turns out the CDI is bad. This happened after I put over $600 into it to get it ready to ride. Ran great til the CDI went bad. Plenty of power, no smoke. Engine is in great shape. Faded plastics but no cracks that I can...
I prefer to sell as a whole but if nobody bites here or on craigslist, I will consider parting out.
If you search my posts you will see that I have been trying to fix a no-spark issue. Quad ran great and then stopped charging. It had been running off the batt but one day wouldn't start...
So lets say I know a guy who used to work on Trans-Con "Connies" (a 1950's airliner) and he has a machine that will re-magnetize my currently dead magneto-flywheel that I happen to have for my '87. Would that be good for the '88? If so, what parts off the '89 would or wouldn't be compatible...
If yours is like mine was, there's a bit of "varnish" built up on all the carb surfaces. Especially the bowl and floats. A good cleaning will clean out all the gunk. You'll be AMAZED how good it will run.
Alex or Pat - How do you test the CDI??
Alex,
Nice job on the sticky. I may have a few more for you to add soon.
How do you test the CDI??
Can you test the voltage regulator??
See my post/question on parts compatability between the 87, 88 and 89 warriors today. ;-)
Here's a good question...
Hello strangers. It's been a while.
About this time last year I came to the conclusion that the electrical difficulties I've been having with my '87 might be terminal. To sum up:
Got the quad a couple years ago as a partial trade. Last year outfitted with new ITP Holeshots (I now had...
Although it might be over my head, with help from my father-in-law, if it can be done...he can get it done.
Keep me in the loop if you find that it can in fact be done. I'm about done sinking money into this thing but I'd also hate to have to part it out.
The saga continues still...
I've done some more research on my charging/electrical issues. The new stator is in. Cranks but won't fire.
The CDI Flywheel's magnetism is very weak. I've found that there are some that can re-magnetize "Magneto Flywheels". Guys that rebuild old tractors...
