Figured it out!! For anyone with interest.... The snap rings can be removed with an awl/pick. I used a Pittsburg set I got at harbor freight for $.99 and it worked perfect. You have to use a hammer and hit the ring at a downward angle and the ring separated. I only had to remove one side on...
