    head gasket

with the gasket trick youl gain .75:1 so a stock 9.2:1 piston will make it 10:1, 10:1 is the best setup for air cooled pump gas. you better check your piston to deck clearance because hot rods never made a 7mm stoker crank they only made the 4mm. so if you have a 7mm stroker piston your will...

    compression tests?

you cant tell by PSI because all gages are not accuate, they might be 20 psi off, a gage is good for multi cylinder because you can compare between cylinders to find the weak one.

    compression tests?

You probably can cc it with heavy oil and a large syringe through the plug hole, set piston TDC compression stroke and measure cc injected into bottom of plug hole threads, displacement 348cc divided by combustion cc 37.826cc = 9.2 to 1 stock, then you'll have to get the oil out.

    keihin 38mm carb questions

I dont think youl gain any performance on this carb.(38mm round slide no acc.pump 1970 vintage) ther are a lot better carbs out there. the best carbs for 4 stroke performance you need a acc. pump and flat slide like the keihin fcr37mm, even the 400ex carb is a upgrade(38mm flat slide acc. pump)...

    379 Stroker

that 42mm valve plus porting make the warrior head flow great when you running big bore and stroker motors, the stem has to be cut for you keepers and lenth(I cant give away all my engine secrets LOL)

    379 Stroker

exhaust valve is not needed on the Warrior, but with porting and every +mm of intake youl gain about 750- 1000rpm Item # 40-4178B, 7.0mm Diameter Stems $24.38 Email This Page Save To Favorites All KPMI Black Diamond Stainless Steel...

    379 Stroker

stroker motor If you warrior is running good leave it alone. I have a lot of experience on stroker big bore warrior motors and I do all my machine work, the +4 hot rod crank big bore kit is pretty reliable but its only giving you 10% more displacement 380cc = 10% more power. now if you have a...

    Thinking of biulding a motor

I been wrenchen on alot 350, the best mods #1 exhaust #2 intake filter mods #3 compression #4 cam #5 displacement #6 +1 intake valve, there is no replacement for displacement, bigger is better, stroker big bore. use no more then 10.5-1 compression, use no bigger then stage one cam, use stock...

    where to spend $

I would take it apart and measure the stroke with digital caliper first, hot rods had a bunch of cranks made that were +4mm instead of +7mm so if somebody used the +7mm stroker piston on a +4 stroker crank the piston will be about 1.5 mm lower at top dead center and be low on compression. I just...

    Engine oil

I use mobil 1 0w-30 with out a problem on my Raptor and warrior, On all air cooled engines I would use a blent or synthetic because ther are so much better with heat, Ive check my Raptor oil temp. in the summer and it was over 250 deg. but on my water cooled engines I use cheaper oil, but...

    Max compression on 93 octane?

You dont want to go any higher then 10.5:1 on air cooled engines even at that I would use an oil cooler, there is alot more HP gains going from 9:1 to 10.5:1 then going from 10.5:1 to 12:1 and ther is alot more heat at 12:1

    Broken Valves .......och

Looks pretty ugly, I hate to say it but you better check your crank and rod, how long after you put carb. on did it come apart? looks like some foreign object got in there and hammered everything apart, I could see one valve break and it lock up and stop,

    366?

a lot of times you can get by with a hone and a std. wisco piston kit about $80, because the stock cast piston need .0015" clearance and the wisco forged piston needs .002", the wisco because of the design needs more clearance, so its a good fit for a used cylinder

    wondering

I had a piston that came apart, it broke the cylinder sleeve, bent connecting rod, bent intake valve and broke intake rocker arm, but didn't hurt the case or the head, they most always give you plenty of warning before they come apart, don't they

    Raptor 250

If you want to make your warrior's clutch easier, look how the raptor 350 cable is mounted to the engine, if you mount the warriors clutch cable the same way it well be a lot easier to pull, you don't need to use your clutch to shift gears just to get rolling, if you want your thumb throttle...

    CWR 460cc or FST 446cc??

If you look at all the high performance atv's, there only using 63mm stroke engines and close to 12:1 compression for more high RPM HP, I have a spare 350 motor with a bad cylinder and broken crank, I have a new +4mm (68.5mm)stroker crank in a box and web cam .430 with HD springs in a box, and...

A what-if scenario for performance mods

best mods. for $200, wiseco piston kit $90., pro design K&N filter kit $100, mod. your own stock pipe, gut and cut everything out and just leave the 1" hole, pipe on at the end, re jet with a 165 main and raise the needle one clip $10

    compression

On the warrior and raptor 350, the factory head gasket consist of 3 thin gaskets, take them apart, clean it up and use just one of them, I did this on my stock raptor 350 and work good, if you want even more don't use a base gasket use RTV form a gasket, but make shore you have enough piston to...

    Z400 carb guide
