From my research it does not seem the main fuse has anything to do with the CDI.
The CDI takes the 12v from the battery and steps the voltage up to around 400volts. Then sends it to the charging circuit to charge the main capacitor. Once the triggering circuit receives the triggering signal...
Update - I have no spark. I removed the spark plug, plugged it back into the spark plug wire and held it against the engine but no spark could be seen. I also tried against the frame.
I assume this means my CDI is toast?
I just found the MORON I bought the warrior from wrapped some tinfoil around the main fuse and put in back in. I hope I did not just burn out my new CDI.
Update - replaced the main fuse, attempted to start it again, 3 trys but did not start. I will post a video ASAP...
I bought a 1996 Warrior and took it the Yamaha dealership; the tech told me the CDI was bad so I bought one from RMSTRATOR. I put in the CDI and hooked up the battery. It will turn over but not fire up. After about 10 attempts starting it, I hear “pop.. pop.. fizzle” and a small amount of...
So I have 3 ATVs and 1 dirty bike. I go through a decent amount of oil.
I have been buying "ATV 10W40 Oil" from Napa but I would like to purchase bulk oil but they do not have the "ATV 10W40 Oil" in bulk. If there a Motor/Car oil that will do good in the ATV given it lubs the transmission etc.
When I went to look at the warrior to buy it; it was:
-Missing Positive and Negative battery wires
-No battery
-carb was super dirty, looks like 14 years of crap in there
-Missing Air filter
-oil was super thick and black
-no CDI
-It appears a small fire (electrical destroyed a small area of...
So I recently bought my first Warrior (1996) and it was pretty much beat to S&%! so I am fixing it up.
My question is:
What upgrades to my warrior would you suggest to improve the ride, performance, and durability of my 1996 warrior?
