Top Rear Motor Mount Hole Question

There is something inside the motor mount hole on the upper rear mount hole of my motor. Is this normal?? I've trying tapping it out with no luck. Below are pictures. I just wanted to check with you guys before I keep pounding or start drilling it out. Thanks!

I didn't think so. How would you recommend removing it? I already tried driving it out with a punch...no luck.

I wouldn't go crazy with a punch. Could break the aluminum. Try a drill bit. Start small.
