Guys, I am afraid the time has come. I am very ill, it may be terminal. I have been bitten by the ATV bug for the second time in my life. My wife is uber pissed and I have pushed her Infiniti outside to make room for more bikes. Im afraid she is on the brink of killing me. I hope I live long enough to continue this thread until the end..I could go at any time, if you never hear from me again...please post all my pics in ONE thread, stickied, under the "gone but not forgotten" section. Like I said, I hope I can finish....
With that said, lets get this party started and enjoy my time here.:slayer:
I woke up early thanksgiving morning with the urge to take a dump and look at the ATV trader on facebook...thats why smart phones were invented
(Im inside,....pervs)
On my journey through countless STUPID posts, I ran across THE stupid post...the one I was looking for...in all its glory. So I picked that bitch up for a XD-9 pistol, and $250
I admit, it looks like shyte...but here are the mods it already had
-Yoshi exhaust
-Pro design filter adapter with K&N :argh:
-Tusk 2+ axle
-rear shock cover
-smurf blue scott grips
-rusty chain
-"custom" dash
-broken reverse knob
-no hood
- aluminum oil tank
...thats about it
First thing is the inaugural washing
She cleaned up nice, so i checked all nuts and bolts for tightness, checked fluids and set out on a test ride...
It was a muddy drive in to my riding location, no problem for the burb
The kid that works at my store blew up his YFZ, and was sad...I called him a bitch and told him its fixable LOL:laughup:
I didnt ride much, it was running lean..so I wrapped an old shirt around the air filter to choke it back, it worked good enough to put around. IMMEDIATELY once I got home I ripped some **** off the raptor in search of the carburetors
some plastic clips and bolts were rounded off and **** so I got out my jacked up fastener removal tool.
Once I discovered the carbs I pulled them off and began disassembly
In all efforts to keep the left carb stuff with the left carb and the right carb stuff with the right carb I activated my OCD
To save the boring stuff, Ill get to the points of interest
-carbs were filthy
-bowl gaskets were trash
-the main jets were swapped...no wonder it was lean
Bowl gaskets FINALLY came in today...once I get those babies in there it will be time for float adjustment
Parts FINALLY started showing up
I have A LOT more inbound, I will take some "ATV parts porn pics" before installation.
Cleaned the K&N...
This is a picture depicting its sad state at the moment
The ice storm made my suburban go through some mud:haha:
This should do much better than the factory pillow soft bowl screws
Found a Dirty picture
Tried to make it run without carbs....the raptor showed no fear and just stood there like a boss
Enough with that...I GOT A NEW TOY!!!

The deal: Predator for a unmolested (yet filthy) 2004 DS650 and $600 cash

I DID IT
WHAT I GOT!:

The powerplant cleaned up!:
25" Turf busters baby!! (already sold)
This is all I have for now, this bike will have its own porn quality stash of parts coming in soon!! Will look TOTALLY different in the coming week:slayer:
