got a dg pipe and i am trying to fit it on my bike....it seems the header pipe is a tad too long, i cant get the slip on to go on any further.. do they ever have to cut the header pipe to get the bolt holes in the rear to line up? if i cut the header pipe it will work but any other suggestions? bolt holes are O

You got me, can you get a picture to show us. Also if you are on a time crunch a muffler shop would be able to help and not cost much at all.
 
Stock head pipe I am assuming?
You could always trim where the mid pipe meets the slip-on.
You could also slot the mounting holes to give you a little wiggle room.
 
I believe you are correct on the DG being to long. Last week I pulled the DG off that came on it and went to put a stock muffler back on and I was a few inches to short from reaching the mid pipe. I found an adapter at Autozone that slide over the mid-pipe and into the muffler pipe. I did have to trim down the adapter some as it was to long, but otherwise worked fine.
