timing chain rail

hey guys i have been working on my father inlaws firstgen. needed a head gasket the book dosnt show the timing chain rail where it sits ? If you are on the left of the bike facing the cam the rail on the left . dose it go in to the head or is it tight to the cam chain and gear?

It has a saddle in the bottom of the engine that it sits in, and it has another in the bottom of the head that it goes in. You'll see it plan as day if you turn the head over. Also, with the head off, you can look down through the timing chain passageway and see the lower saddle for the guide.
