Ok i bought this about 2 months ago and i cannot get it to act rite. Iv never heard it run. I got it bored .50 over, new piston and rings, cdi box, brand new carb, cam and flywheel line up perfect at tdc. good valves, textbook valve clearance, new one way starter clutch and gear. I did check the ignition coil-works perfect. plenty of spark at plug. But when i try to start it, it cranks fine untill it fires and then when it fires it tries to kick the motor backwards and backfires through the carb.

please help!!!

I dont know much about getting new engines to start, but, it sounds to me that if it kicks back like that you are either getting to much fuel meaning that the fuel is to rich, or the fuel isnt high enough octain causing preignition.

sounds to me like bad timing....spark is made before piston reach TDC and kick the piston down....check your flywheel key

I'd go with what they said, i was just taking a guess with my limited knowledge on starting fresh engines.
