The petcock on my '99 Warrior would not completely close; with the fuel line removed, gas would still drip from the outlet even though the lever in was the off position. I ordered an aftermarket replacement, and had 2 problems: the outlet was smaller so I had to use a smaller fuel line and stretch it to fit the carb. Second, as soon as I got it installed and put gas in the tank, it started leaking around the selector lever.
Has anyone used one of the rebuild kits for the original petcock with success? I wasn't sure if rebuilding the original would be worth it, but I don't want another cheap aftermarket that's going to leak either.

Get an OEM one. Not too expensive. Price around. I replaced mine with factory and if I remember correctly; it was around 25$
