Need help with recently purchased 91 Warrior.

Every time I shift it into reverse it kills the motor.
Not being stalled out with the clutch, it just stops.

I cannot start it in reverse at all even with the clutch pulled in.
With the clutch pulled in it will start in any gear as long as the reverse/forward shifter is in the forward position.

Any ideas?

Thanks Steve

No it is not the clutch, it was not stalling out it would just shut the motor off.

Turns out the reverse sensor was missing its ground wire.
I put a ground wire on the sensor and bingo no more problems!

howd you do that? Lol mines doin it too

Just splice into the wire coming out of your forward/reverse shifter and run it to a ground somewhere.

I lifted my air box off and ground the paint off of the one air box mounting areas put a "O" ring wire connector on the wire and put the bolt through the air box then the "O" ring wire connector and remounted the air box.

If you want to see a picture just let me know.
