Lookin for some help

okay i was just drivin down an old dirt road one day when the bike backfired, started pooring out smoke and a few flames and i lost all power in 5th 4th and 3rd.. can anyone tell me what is wrong? i was told the carb had to be fixed and it needed the timming fixed.. is this person right? if so how much does it cost.. any help is appreciated

So did you ever get this fixed? Off the top of my head it sounds like a carb issue but I'd be curious to know how things turned out.
