I just bought a clamp on style K&N filter kit that comes with the outerwears. I run through a lot of water where we ride and I'm wondering if I need to leave my lid on. I read somewhere that outerwears were waterproof. Seems fishy to me. I dont get into too deep of water but I'm usally haulin' ass and water is flying everywhere. If the outerwears are waterproof, can I get rid of my airbox all together (if I re-route my crankcase breather hose to a higher spot)?

Don't get rid of the airbox. They're water "repellant" not water proof. If you're riding in water that's as high as your seat, I'd leave the lid on too. I had my lid off my Rappy and even with the outerwears cover I'd have problems with water every here and there.

Thanks for your answers. I just spent about three hours reading past posts on this topic so I'm straight on this subject.
