How do you tell if your clutch is out of adjustment or worn?

I know this is a stupid question but How do you tell when the clutch is going out? also do you adjust the clutch wear the cable connects to the motor or where it connects to the lever or both?

The only other machine I have had with a clutch was a 300ex and Only had it for a couple months.

you can adjust it from both sides man . just did mine hoping it fixes my 6th gear problem.
apart from slipping when its properly adjusted the only way to tell is to look at the plates and see if the pads are within spec.
