HIgh idle on 95 wolverine

My 95 is driving me nuts. The quad idles great, but when you run it and go to shift, the rpms won't come down except very slowly. The cable is fine, the slide drops like a rock. The carb has been thoroughly cleaned. Any advice before I switch to a later model carb? Or is it the carb? Thanks!

Found the Problem

Thanks to all anyway but the issue is resolved. A bad o ring between the head and joint melted down, thus an air leak.:clap:
