Hey guys- Is it safe to leave it in gear while trying to remove the front sprocket nut and is it a regular thread? Lefty Loosy?

I put it in gear, put a wrench to it, and it turns, but not loosening anything, I think it just turned with the engine. Any clue what to do?

I stand on the brake and use a breaker bar on the wrench, comes off fairly easy. If that doesnt work use an impact gun while standing on the brake also.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your help. I'll try stepping on the brake while it's in gear.
