Extending stock steering stem

Has anyone ever extended there stock steering stem, i have an extra one and am thinking of trying it. any tips?

I know of several that have done it, A few off here has and a lot off other forums. MidwayUSA is real good at making them, He's a good friend of mine and the guy is a perfectionist, He made his own antivibe clamp also. PM him and he should have some dimensions for ya and some tips.
