I lost mine and replaced it with a rubber drain plug you can find for $1 at a hardware store. I think it stays put better than the cap, that's why it's gone in the first place lol . I think 1 1/4 inch fits best

Thats cool, I have had duct tape on mine for almost 2 yrs. Lost 3 of them and gave up.
 
I'm running a lid off of a quart of oil. Has stayed on over 1000 miles now and I ride mud, swamps, hills, sand, creeks, etc. Haven't lost it or has anything ever got in the tank.
