Clicking when hitting start button

Replaced the battery with a used one and now when you try starting it, the solonoid clicks but occasionally it does engage the starter and turns over just fine. Does that mean the solonoid is bad? I haven't tried jumping the solonoid yet but is it common for them to go bad or is it something else?

Yea solenoids go bad, thats nothing out of the ordinary. Im sure you have, but check and make sure all connections are tight and clean. Jumping it like you said is a good idea to find out if its bad too.
