Back firing than stalls

I got the wolvy running just about perfect the only thing is that sometimes it will back fire and then it stalls out when I put it in gear. I'm thinking it's the timing but I can't find anything in the manual that tells me how to actually adjust the timing. So my question is.... HOW DO I ADJUST THE TIMING?!?!

any help would be more than appreciated.
