anybody ever CLR to remove rust from frame a arms etc?

i was watchin this video on youtube and stacey david from gearz was doin his usual product reviews and did one on using CLR to remove rust. he said he doesnt eat the paint up and only removes rust. im gunna get some tomorrow if will work. just wonderin if anyone has ever tried it before or knows of a way to remove rust with out striping the paint.
