Aftermarket shock questions

Can anyone briefly explain the benefit of rezzies and the advantages of triple rate springs over dual rate. I'm looking to buy some aftermarket front shocks but dont know how far to go with them. I dont race on tracks and and dont launch huge jumps. I mainly trail ride and hit little 5 foot jumps here and there. I do ride hard and fast on the trails though. I want to upgrade my stock shocks but I dont want to buy something that I will never take full advantage of. Any thoughts?
