Advanced Timing???

Would advancing the timing on these engines give more power or would it put too much stress on the engine?

That is something I would want but how much should I advance the timing? 1 tooth on the cam or 2?

I was thinking about it and I think what I have to do is take the cam sprocket off and rotate the engine a little bit and then put the sprocket back on. Has anybody else done this?

I was reading something on the WEBCams website in their glossary about cams and it said that advancing the timing would give more low-end torque and retarding would give more high-end torque. What do you guys think would be best.

One more thing it says something about lobe separation. Can those be adjusted on the cam in this engine or no?

I think you need to get an adjustable sprocket to change your timing. Just one tooth will still be too much of a difference, and you'll have all kinds of problems with how the engine runs. And lobes aren't adjustable

just get a degree key from vitos for your flywheel....i think it advances it 4 degrees if im correct

When i tore my motor down i found somebody had retarded the timing 1 tooth. it was fine but im going to advance it one tooth see if it will make much of a difference.

You really should **** with timing on a Dyno so you can see wtf you are doing.
