'87 warrior

bought an '87 warrior..well that's what I thought...my friend has an '87 and his engine is black but mine is grey...any idea what year it could be or how can I find out the year??

check the vin number and then cross reference it online

10th digit in the VIN. Do you have low mounted lights and a short hood?

Engine might be out of a newer quad.
