    2003 350 Rear Axle Seal

Anyone done this? My rear seal is bad; I can see the leak on the rear diff. It looks pretty straight forward, but I've done enough wrenching to know it doesn't always go as easy as the steps in the manual indicate. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks guys.

    Rear diff skid plate

A few years back, I bought a really nice rear skid from a member on here. I covers a really large portion of the rear swing arm. The only issue was, I couldn't mount my trailer hitch correctly, it got in the way of the plate. I flipped it upside down and that was fine for occational use...but...

    Rear Caliper Issues

Ever since I bought my machine a few years back, I've had issues with the rear caliper. The thing drags and eats pads like nothing. I more often than not, just use the front brakes. I've overhauled the sliders with a new pin and a new boots...no luck. I want to say a Z-400 or 400EX rear...

    Yamaha Brake Caliper Slider Pin

Random info.... The boot on my front caliper slider pin tore awhile back. This allowed all sorts of crap to get there, wash out the grease and bind it up. Braking worked, but not a well as it used to. I checked around and Yamaha doesn't sell the slider for the Wolverine. WTF? However, it...

    Reverse lock out

I don't think I've posted this here as of yet..... The reverse lockout does not work on my machine. Basically, I can go from first, right to reverse without turning the knob. On a ride earlier this season, it made for some interesting situations. 1) I backed into my buddy when going from a...

    Exhaust leak

I have an FMF MegaMax silencer installed on my Wolverine. The previous owner had installed it and since it's pretty quiet, I've just left it on. It's a great system, except I have a bit of a gap between the silencer and the headpipe. I've tried to adjust it, but I can't get the fit 100%...

    Smoke on startup

2003 Wolverine 350. I'm getting a little smoke on startup when the engine is cold. It doesn't last all that long and goes away once things warm up a bit. If the engine stays warm between starts (like on a ride) it doesn't smoke at all on other starups. I'm going to assume it's the...

    A few Wolverine 350 4x4 tech tips

I've done a lot of writeup on another site I'm involved with; www.northeastatvers.com Since I already took pics and did the writeups, I figured I'd share some here. Steve, If you want to host any of these pics or transfer the writeups, let me know. I'd be glad to help out! Fuel filter...

New Wolverine drain plug (pics and part numbers)

A few weeks ago, I attempted to change my oil before a ride. Usually, this a 30 minute ordeal...max. To make a really long story short, I could not remove the drain plug. I had torqued it down to spec, but the bugger wasn't moving. I was getting desperate, so I stood the quad up on the rear...

    Valve adjustment..how often?

350 4x4 owners...how often do you adjust your valves? What do you use to hold the tappit that Yamaha interestingly engineered square?

    Front wheel bearings

I took pics when removing the spindles this weekend. Here's the writeup on Northeastatvers.com: http://northeastatvers.com/forum/index.php?topic=11694.0

    Front brake pad installation

I did the pads this weekend and took some pics. Here's the write up I did on northeastatvers.com: http://northeastatvers.com/forum/index.php?topic=11695.0

    Front wheel bearings

Well, looks like mine are on their way out. The right side front wheel has a lot of play when you wiggle the wheel. The left side isn't as bad, but has some slop. Anyone done front wheel bearings before? Difficult? I'm assuming I'll have to bring is somewhere to have the old races removed...

    Rear brake help needed

How the heck do you install the boots on the rear caliper slid pin? I fought with those for a good 25 minutes today with no luck. It looks like one part of the boot sits in the notch on the caliper...then once the pin is installed , the boot slides into the indentation on the pin. I could...

    Moose Winter Pack

I installed this set up my machine this past fall. It has made riding in cooler temps a pleasure. The install was easy since the grips just slip on after you spray them with WD-40. Wiring requires you tapping into a power source and finding a ground. For power, I tapped into the hot side of the...

    Engine oil

What's everyone running for engine oil? I used to run Mobil 10w-40 which worked just fine. I found some Castrol 4Stroke motorcycle oil at PepBoys (of all places). I've found that my machine is much easier to shift when it's up to operating temp. It's a conventional oil. Anyone here...
