Clean all connections......mine was turning over slow and I cleaned up the neg/ground and it spun right over..... Can't hurt...it is free...and if it is not the problem....it may point you to something that is..... Jebby

There is a rev limiter stock.....but no it may not be uncommon....but stock does not make any power there...just noise..... Jebby

Make sure your chain is not binding anywhere....the front sprocket is rather small....any bad spots on the chain could cause that.... Remove the chain and spin the axle....then you will know for sure... jebby

It wouldn't take much to drop compression to an acceptable level becase there is just not a bunch of swept volume.... The bonus here is the chamber efficiency would increase....the quench would be better...and the resulting lower cylinder pressure and better squeeze would result in a efficient...
