Turn key off, neutral light comes on...?

Thanks for the reply, I checked the wiring and switch visually and didn't spot anything like frayed wires or the like. I think it might have something to do with the relay in the back clicking though... Bump for any other suggestions, thanks!

Turn key off, neutral light comes on...?

2003 Warrior, stock. Was riding yesterday (night 12am-2am) and stopped for a break. I shut it off as I always do, using the key. I noticed the green neutral light is on for some reason... I remove the key and the light is still on. It is in gear but that shouldn't matter anyway, the key isn't...

    removing chain

Once the clip is removed, there is a plate under it that needs removed. After that there will be the 2 posts that the clip attached to, and you push those through and out the other side, and it'll all fall apart. Once the snap clip is removed, you can push on the pins that you just removed the...

    How much of a 1998 fits a 2003 Warrior?

Well, I might see if I can get it then. What changed with the wiring? It needs a coil supposedly and there is no telling what else it might need but if I can get it cheaply I might get it. Thanks for the reply!

    How much of a 1998 fits a 2003 Warrior?

I'm looking at a 1998 Warrior for a possible parts bike, but I wanted to know... how much of it would interchange onto my 2003? Thanks! Brian

    Trans experts, a question :)

It shifts just fine, a little dodgy to grab neutral when hot sometimes, sometimes you can get neutral and the light isn't on, sometimes it is not quite out of gear and the light is on... but I seem to recall this only being an issue when dead stopped. When rolling and allowing the shafts and...

    Trans experts, a question :)

My fast vibration at idle, while sporadic, has gotten worse I think. I've also been able to start and stop the noise, when it is occurring. Ride hard and have fun, race up and stop in gear with the clutch pulled and held, and I can feel it in the seat and pegs. Out of gear and into neutral...

Shindy brand carb rebuild kit... any good?

Looking at this kit for my 2003 Warrior: http://www.ghdiscountatvsupply.com/servlet/the-388/Yamaha-YFM-350-350X/Detail I like that it says it is made in Japan, but I wondered if there is a better carb kit out there, preferably with parts from the OE mfg... I'm not sure if Mikuni makes...

Carb question now that it is rolling again...

I've got it back together, I replaced a box full of parts... it rolls nice and smooth now and feels good with new handle bars, grips, clutch, sprockets, chain, bearings, seals, chain guides and rollers, and a new set of tires.:iagree: I still have a vibration in the engine somewhere. It isn't...

Dear Yamaha Engineer.... how stupid can you be?

To be fair.... there are 3 bolts on the VW 020 trans that have the backs exposed to the elements, they do the same thing being steel bolts in an aluminum trans casing.... so the German engineers didn't do much better in that aspect on some of the transaxles. Thankfully they are M10x1.50 bolts...

Dear Yamaha Engineer.... how stupid can you be?

 I just wanted to vent. Been up all night, under a lot of pressure to get it running again, I ended up dicking about with that stupid M6x1.0 bolt for about 3 hours. I have it sorted now, it just took loads of time punching, drilling, punching, drilling, until most of the steel bolt had...

Dear Yamaha Engineer.... how stupid can you be?

You stupid, moronic, worthless piece of garbage. You must be the most ignorant piece of **** to walk the Earth, you scumbag. I hate you with every fiber of my being, you dolt. Steel, when exposed to the elements, will corrode. Perhaps this is beyond your scope of intelligence.... but it is...

Long rambling post with questions about my 2003...

Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it:tup: It's coming along, I'm just waiting on parts from Yamaha now. Put new tires on it; I learned the starting fluid trick for setting the beads, worked like a charm. Next will be to install the clutch kit, change the oil filter and add oil, swap the...

    rear sprocket nut torque?

Yeah, that is always an option, but I build these for a living so I'm a stickler for preloads, torque values, working clean, etc. when I work on something... just force of habit at this point:tup:

    rear sprocket nut torque?

You typed 43 originally, not 32.... and the sprocket is different than the wheel... the wheel uses 4 nuts to hold it to the hub, the sprocket uses 6. The picture I posted shows the sprocket:tup: I'm not near it so I don't know if it is a 12mm or 14mm nut, but it should be around 15 ft-lbs or...

    rear sprocket nut torque?

That was my initial thought as well.... 43 ft-lbs just sounds high for that size fastener. I placed a call to the local dealer to ask and was given "43 sounds about right to me." for an answer.... but it still sounds too much for a 12mm or 14mm nut. I've downloaded the Raptor350 free .pdf, it...

    rear sprocket nut torque?

Thanks! Did you find it in that free online manual? If so, tell me where, it is driving me nuts! While looking through the listing they have with the various torque values on page 2-9... there are several errors. They list 80 Nm as both 36 and 43 ft-lbs. for the clutch boss and primary drive...

    rear sprocket nut torque?

I've downloaded the repair manual which has, so far, been great. I cannot for the life of me find the torque for the 6 little nuts that hold the rear drive sprocket to the hub. The small front sprocket is 54 ft-lbs, but I cannot find the rear specs. I did find an error though... Section 2...

Long rambling post with questions about my 2003...

You need a "Big Red" of your own then! I gave $700 for it from Harbor Freight. It is just a cheap chinese press but I need 5 tons max usually, it is rated for 50, so I figured it would work for my needs, which it has. I just came in from the garage, I've cleaned the inside of the tube...

Long rambling post with questions about my 2003...

Well, it turns out you are correct. I'm a bit puzzled honestly as I am 100% positive I saw a good bit of play between the hub and axle. :???: If you used enough force to lift the weight of the axle, then the entire axle would rock in the bad bearings... but using just a little force and it...
