I bought a nice looking, light and cheap MSR shifter from ebay. Looks somewhat like this on: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-07-YAMAHA-YZ125-YZ250-SUNLINE-ALLOY-GEAR-SHIFTER-YZ_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35588QQihZ020QQitemZ300135039895QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V but it's all shiny metal.

For something like this, brand doesn't really matter. As long as you like the price and look of it.

I bought a Tusk one off of rockymountain. It works pretty good, shifts alot crisper than the stock one. I just wish it was a bit shorter.

I put the tusk brand shifter on my old 2000 also. If it was a little shorter it would of been great, got I got used to the extra length in no time.
