I am trying to take my timing chain cover off but the head of one of the allen bolts is stripped i guess by the previous owner. The inside of it is completly round. How should i try to get it out?

1 vicegrips
2 cut a slot in it with a dremel and use a flat
3 cut the edges flat and use a wrench

Give it a good drink with your choose of break loose stuff and use some patience. It should work.

Stick with it, ive used, whacking it with a hammer, some spray, more whacking, spray, a little conentrated heat, and good vise grips. Not cheap ones, good name brand, appropriate sized(not to big not to small), and if you get it to budge 1mm even, then go back the oppisite way, and wiggle it back and forth.

i ran into a similar situation,i tried all the above, in addition i broke an e-z out (that really pissed me off)in the e'ffin screw.this guy has a machine shop in gardena, cal.he has the equiptment & know how to get it done. it was cheaper to pay him to do it than to buy a new part, he did it without messing up the threads.
i wasted a whole weekend trying to do it myself, just aggrivated the crap out of me

We can only give you suggestions that will help and if they fail or you pretty much give up its professional time.

My biggest advice is dont get upset, take your time with the suggestions given. Ive had some fasteners on mine take a bit to come out, but they do eventually come out. I did see a suggestion about an impact driver, if you havent tryed that already I would. Those things will get most stubborn bolts loose, just be careful not to go to crazy with hitting the driver since it is in aluminum.
