I want to take my foot rests off to paint them. How do I diconnect the left foot rest from the shifter? There's a C-clip on the back that I removed but it still doesn't want to pull off. Am I missing something?

Hi,

I never removed the shifter from the foot rest but the picture of the shifter that I found on an OEM part finder makes me think that removing the C-clip should be enough. Here is a link to the picture SHIFT CAM - FORK.

You are correct. It just required more pounding.
