Well normally people dont run lids with clamp on kits but I dont see a reason to be worried. Try rotating the filter around to see if it will point down into the box; it sounds like it has a slight curve in it.
I never even knew Moose made a clamp on adapter plate, where did you get it from?

But the jetting is proving to be a pain in the ass, so i was just going to put the l;id on and cut my losses.. lol
