On a related note - When I ordered my rear pads I got the set for the front too. Decided to throw them on today(now that I am a brake expert - ha).
My left front wheel had a rub spot where it was catching and if I spin the wheel backwards would nearly lock it up at one spot.
found the typical mud packed in there, slides and pins were dirty and dry - and to my amazement, 3 of the 4 pads had no bad material left on them at all, and the 4th had just the slightest amount in one corner.
went out for a quick ride after swapping in the new pads and lubing it all up. feels a little soft so I may need to bleed it out again, or just bed-in the new pads.
