    Parking brake adjuster bolt

I would just remove the whole parking brake assembly and put a plate on it. Those things are more trouble than they are good. You can buy the plate/block pretty cheap.

    Engine swaping

With the time and money that would be involved you would be better off looking for the bike you want... rather than trying to morph your Warrior or Raptor into what you want. These bikes are great for their intended use, and they mod up rather well. Is it a YFZ or KFX 450, no way. Not even...

Choke causing quad to run lean???!?!?

If you understand how it works you would realize that all it does is enrich the fuel mixture. A real choke so to speak would have a way of restricting airflow. this system does not do that. Not possible to make it run any more lean if it is engaged, it is adding fuel not taking it away. Hope...

Choke causing quad to run lean???!?!?

It's not a choke, it's an idle enrichment circuit. When the knob is pulled out it dumps extra fuel, so I am having a hard time following your statement, please elaborate.

    Air/Fuel Mixture 1-1/4 or 2 turns out?

Start with two turns out and adjust to were it runs good. Should not have to go more than a 1/2 turn either way to get it right. If you do then something is not right. Float level, pilot jet size, or something of that nature. Most carb adjustment problems if the carb is in good shape is due to...

    Installing Tires At Home

Your getting taken to the cleaners with the install, I would look for another shop to do the dismount-mount. Not worth the trouble. I had four done a few months ago for $60.00. Well worth it. ATV tires are a Bitch to get off and get seated. The rim has a double lip. You will probably screw up...

    carrier problems

That sleeve is rusted to the axle, and it needs to free float from side to side so the bearings space out properly. Get it freed up, clean it up and grease it well so it does not happen again. Add a zerk fitting to the carrier and pack it full of grease. Getting ready to do this to my Raptor...

    poped ball joint

I doubt that is going to happen, The ball joints are not replaceable. You need a lower "A" arm. One of the things that suck about owning a Y model. I would look at the rest of them and decide if you should go aftermarket on them all. I keep mine greased real well with a needle grease fitting. I...

    Saddle up hit the trails

GNCC 6 ply tire will fix that problem.

what all should i buy off this yfz450

Take off front shocks are selling for $400.00+, I got lucky and got a set of take offs for $170.00 shipped. These were brand new shocks, my son says that my quad rides like a Cadillac over the rough stuff, I also have a reworked Banshee rear shock. Can't go wrong with that combo. He has my old...

what all should i buy off this yfz450

Front brakes and front shocks, the rear caliper I believe is the same as Raptor and Warrior, bars as well, rims and tires if they are good. Master cylinder for the front, along with the front brake lines, they are a little longer. Not much else is a direct bolt on. Not sure but the front hubs...

    Official Tire thread

A huge plus on the ITP GNCC tire, being six ply is a plus for puncture resistance and the bite is awesome. They will also drift around corners with precision. And they hold up well to.

    .020 over build

Why would you lower a trial rider? Gear it down or up depending on the terrain maybe, but lower it. That is like running a smaller diameter tire on the rear and wondering why your skid plate drags.

    restoring plastics

Wet sand and use a heat gun, being very careful not to overheat. But it's an off road vehicle that will just get scratched up again. Adds caricature, and shows you ride it. Meir makes nice replacements for a reasonable price, but they will show battle scares after a while to. Just don't be to...

Raptor 350 motor build... guy isnt paying me

Since April, I would sell it, give him notice of your intentions in writing and be done with it. Some folks are just plain stupid.

Planning on changing up clutch cover mod

The rest of the crank passing through the oil acts as a heat sink pulling the heat away from critical parts. And the heat in that area is not that great to begin with. I am not saying the Big bear is better at cooling over the modded case, it is just better because of design. A motor that runs a...

Planning on changing up clutch cover mod

It is not a better system, cool oil is just that, cool oil. It lowers the temp of the engine overall. The hottest oil is in the head. Your thinking is just a myth. The crank has so much oil splashing on it that it is cooled from just volume of oil. And it is by far not the hot spot in the motor...

Planning on changing up clutch cover mod

Glad that you addressing the problem. But why not just do the Big Bear oil cooler instead of trying to band aid a clutch cover. My Raptor has had the Big Bear setup for two years and it works just like Yamaha intended it to. And I do not have aluminum or brass fitting hanging out the side of my...

    .020 over build

It adds 4 degrees of timing to the whole curve. Does not really change the curve, just advances the existing one. Gives the bike more low end grunt. If you are running high compression you will have to use higher octane fuel with it. But your bike will feel like it's fuel injected on the low...
