No worries on changing the thread. I am more of a trail rider than interstate cruise controller. If this thread winds down hills, around trees and through mud, that is alright by me. :~)

Found new yfm 350 "project" start???

That is a very good price if it is as good as advertised. The only ones at that price in New England are olderor ones with a major problem. I am seeing more and more desperation sales on Craigslist to pay the mortgage, etc. Go for it!

direct shifter for warrior with pull start?

Thanks guys. I read up on the YZ thread and will likely go that direction. I would like to see if I can actually start the machine with the pull chord as it is what is in the way. Oh well, I can do that in 3-4 months when my knee is stronger. For now, I have a new starter and a new battery...

I like the 6 pack rack. Just enough to get you out and back. ;~)

Just looked at the pics of my machine again and realize there is very little to work with on the bar as it is small. For some reason I must have been looking at some of the aftermarket ones that are bigger. These are the problems with my machine being 200 miles away with my brother in law...

Definitely a good option. Especially since they are easy on/off. Has anyone made a carrier that goes on the grab bar? I was thinking of a simple design to hold 30-50 lbs of stuff.

Anyone ever create a way to carry stuff for longer rides? I was thinking about mounting a quick connect box to the grab bar. Might also carry small gas can or camping gear. May need to bring half my tools with me when I first get this 87 running.

    A Must Read!

Sorry to bring back an old post but this is funny and I just had to comment. Even better for me as my wife is a teacher.

direct shifter for warrior with pull start?

Fish22 - Did you ever find one that fit around the pull start? The one you listed from e-bay is the same one I was looking at but I saw a red one.

    warrior direct shifter

Thank you for updating the thread. I am trying to do something direct on my 87 and need to work around the recoil box. With no welding experience I am not sure what to do.

Old 87s come a long way

Nice to see one like mine in action. I am currently restoring an 87 Warrior. I love the sound these make. Can't wait to ride it in the spring.

Glad I found it because all I am interested in is the mighty warrior. Seems like a good starter machine and a good way to learn about engines and ATV mechanics.

Found to link on this site while on http://www.exriders.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?forumid=173. Someone posted this as a great site for Warrior owners. Glad to be here. Just had ACL Surgery so I have lots of time to read the posts. ;~)

Hey all. Just bought my first ATV and it is a 1987 Warrior. This pic is my brother-in-law showing it some love. I look forward to working on it myself as I know nothing about engines and really want to learn. I am excited to learn through the posts on this site. Ken
