man some up to date close up pics and full mod list filled out this thing should be elite definitely. any dynos ever done?

In 01 or 02 I dyno'd it, the engine on alcohol was around 32 hp. I'm not sure of the NOS size, but I think it was around a 20 shot, dyno'd at 47 hp. The guy that let me run on the dyno didn't have the right program for alcohol for fuel, so it was measuring everything as if the exhaust gas was with gas, so it probably wasn't totally correct. FST told be the engine should have been, on gas, around 37hp, so it was off about 5 hp.
Oh, the piston is cutom built for the Four Stroke Tech stroker crank, from JE, it's a $205.00 piston & the head gasket is $35.00. When I built this engine in the spring of '98, it cost me around $1300.00 w/labor. I think U should be able to build it for around $900.00-1000.00, if U do the take down & putting it back together yourself. Most big shops have a 400cc stroker & FST offers a 430cc & 446cc.
If I rebuild this yr., I'm thinking of going to a 470cc or 480cc, don't know yet what I'm gonna do.
I am thinking about putting in a dirt drag track if the economy picks up, so that's why I don't know if I'll rebuild it.
It's blown up right now. Over reved it in fall of '07, rod through the cases 2 times in front of engine & it knocked the starter totally of engine. I missed 2nd. gear at about 30 ft. from start & with the wheels still in the air, it let go.

I have to have a crank stroked(which I have a crank) & I have a piston & stuff already, so it shouldn't cost over $200-300.00 or so.
U have to use a Kodiak 400 cyl.(which I already have) & timing chain & a special sleeve that will work from the 430 stroker kit.

the 500 kit is just 5-6 extra HPs up. And how your runnin your bike I say that it IS worth it. Your draggin it so go as big as you can! The 500 or the 446 is a no go for a woods rider if your also worried about reliability and upkeep.

That's what I'm thinking also. I will probably have to run the 450's with stroker kits & have no idea what kind of HP they have with just the engines. The extra CC's will probably get me up to around 70HP w/NOS, I'd say.

I just figured on a fully built to hilt motor 500cc is the way to go, there is no replacement for displacement lol

stock 450 about 38-42 hp and here is a trx450 build:

64.50 hp and 39.97 tq

DRG 15:1 stock bore piston
DRG porting with +1 exhaust
Web 493 cam
AMR MONSTER ignition coil
Rage / Dasa Exhaust
DASA 43mm Fcr carb
185 main 45 pilot needle 3clip from bottom
Dasa Filter setup
C-16 VP fuel
stock swing arm
14/34 gearing
Now 3mm stroke

12.5mm stroke & 87mm bore = 457cc. 12.5mm stroke & 88mm bore = 468cc. 12.5mm stroke & 89mm bore = 479cc. 12.5mm stroke & 90mm bore = 489. I already have a 10.5mm stroke & 87mm bore that's a 446, so I may stay with 75mm stroke & run the 89mm or 90mm-12.5 comp. piston from the Yammy TT500. Don't know yet what I will do till I start back to work.
