spacers

Ive heard not to go bigger than 1.5 on wheel spacers , why might that be???

Where can I get cheap 1.5 front and back wheel spacers , and I DO know there's cons to this so don't just tell me not to get them , and so far the cheapest I found are 69.99 so any cheaper would help , thanks...
