Hello guys...

I have a Yamaha Warrior 350 of the 1999. In last days I have some problems with it. So, the moto 4 don't start. I send you a video with the engine start:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JhB09ojIac&feature=youtu.be

I did some tests with it. With multimeter I tested battery and I got the 11,8V and when I started the moto the voltage down to 9,6/9,7V. I think that the battery is ok. Then, I saw the spark plug and sometimes there is a sparklet, but sometimes. Normally, there isn't.

More, I tested CDI box and got some values, in terminals in CDI box:

(Plugs)

--------
- - -
- - -
--------
X +- X
9k

---------------------
- - - -
- - - -
---------------------
753k 152k 450k 36k

This values are correct?!

Could you help me in others tests with warrior 350?!

Thanks for help.

The Cdi box is fine. They dont go bad often. It's either the stator or ignition coil.

process of elimination is the only way to determine if the cdi is good or not since theres no specific way to test it. look in the pdf service manual on here in the how to forum and get electronic specs for everything and test accordingly

alex456123, thanks for help...

How do you know box cdi is fine?! Could you help me?!

Thanks a lot...

Test in another warrior that is the same that's the only way with a CDI.

Hello guys...

I tested CDI and it is good. I tested in other yamaha.
After that I tested others electronic parts like:

-> Ignition coil resistance
-> Primary - 0.28ohm (0.36 - 0.48ohm);
-> Secondary - 6.48kohm (5.44 - 7.36kohm);

-> Source coil resistance - 212/213ohm (270 - 330ohm);

-> Pickup coil resistance - 192ohm (171 - 209ohm).

Could you help me about the conclusions about that?

Thanks for all.

Source coil is bad, you need a new stator.

Are you sure 1998yamahawarrior?

Is it very down the resistance?

I see the resistance but I don't know about if source coil is good or not... This part is very expensive and I don't want to buy this part without certainly. But as you tell me that source coil is bad I'm buying this part.

Is it better to buy this part market or aftermarket? Yamaha is very expensive.

Thakns for help.

Yep they are a very reputable company up in Canada that specializes in stators

i'd love to know what makes a stator $225 when the pickup is only $15. doesnt make any sense to me but i gotta come off of it to buy one for mine, again

Just ordered one for $159. Lol still beats $225.yall saved me alot of money thanks guys
