i have new rings in, i made sure they were scattered. and my quad is burning oil like none other, what could be the problem? could they still need to seat properly?

do u know for sure its oil cz if u put any lube on the piston when u put it back in then it could be that burnin up cz i know when my friend got his top end rebuilt his was smokin for a while because of the lube on the piston but it stopped.

It's normal to burn a little bit of oil before the rings break in, key word LITTLE. Usually it's just barely noticable, and is gone after the first 15 minutes. Did you check all the tolerances between the piston and bore before you put it in?
