Which reminds me, and cannot believe I forgot it since I'm always bringing it up. There are two o-rings around the jet tube. You have to remove the tube to get to them. They are a square edge type, and when they go bad, they will do this to the bike. You have to remove the two tamper proof torx screws holding the jet tube insert (Y shaped once removed). You need to take the top cover off the carb to get to those screws. You have to take the bowl off, remove the float, and press down squarely on the main jet. Just hold the carb in your hands, and place the main jet on a table or work bench when you do it. DO NOT try to pull the insert out from the top with pliers. It WILL break, trust me.
