kevinsranger...im sorta having ur problem so let me know what works...my bike wont turn on unless i...turn off...then turn back on my killswitch...then wiggle the battery u think its my cdi?

did you pull apart your handlebar switch? they get full of dirt and water and the start contact gets corroded. i fixed my friends yfz450 that way, he was replacing the start relay, and battery and wiring, finally asked me to look at it, took the bar switch off, full of moisture and dirt, sprayed electronic cleaner all over it, put some dielectric grease in there to water proof it and it works perfect. my switch on my warrior was full of dust too, but still worked, but i cleaned it up anyway, and found frayed wires in there, so i cleaned them up too.

do you guys know what other model rims fit on the warrior? banshee? raptor ect? i need new front tires and i would like to buy some used ones already mounted

new stator is in, carb rebuild, front brake fluid flushed and bled, she runs good now, i "rigged" the on off switch to work connected directly to the coil wire. here is a few pics

Yes banshee, raptor, yfz rims will fit the warrior. Polaris outlaw and predator front rims will fit but the rear wheels won't fit.

great thank you, i can find a bunch of banshee/raptor rims and tires cheap locally and just bolt them on

I received all my raptor350 clutch parts today :iagree: can't wait to throw them on tonight!! all i need now is brake pads and carrier bearings and off to trevorton for the first weekend in september!!!!!!!!

installed the rappy clutch mod yesterday, it is definitely so much easier and smoother pull, i can't say how much compared to a GOOD condition stock setup because i never realized but my stock cable was very hard to move in the sleeve.

also, was messing around with the decal machine at work yesterday and made some tank decals just to freshen it up a bit

i know its simple and stupid, but i think it gave it a fresher look, besides this build is moving slowly so at least its an update lol

question for you experienced warrior guys, on the front spindle where the tie rod end goes into, the piece is bolted on, and the bolts are tack welded to the bracket, is that from the factory that way?

basically i had play in the front end, it was that bracket loose on the spindle, the weld cracked, so can i just pull the bolt out and load it up with some red loc tite, crank it tight and tack it back together?

nope it is not .... they shouldnt be welded

I figured that, the only thing that made me second guess it is that both sides were welded in the same spot, and yamaha doesnt list the bolts or that bracket seperate. i'll pull them out and use some strong loc tite

the tie rod end is the bolt and there is a castle nut that goes on top with a cotter pin

im talking about the actual part the wheel side tie rod end goes into. there is two allen bolts that bolt the bracket to the spindle itself, i really wish i woulda took a picture of it

progress on my warrior is a big slow lately, heading to treverton tonight, should be riding first thing tomorrow morning and probably sunday if nothing breaks.

been working on my friends 2 450's, one is east coast atv's old shop quad, i dont think there is a thing left stock on it

Yes they are tac welded from factory. My 96 was bought new and was tack weled at the spindle where the tie rod bolts on.. Mike

got some more work done this weekend, nothing special, but when i rode the warrior, it felt like a 4x4 atv because of the plastics in front and the huge headlight, so i decided to cut the plastics, get rid of the headlight all together, and bent some metal to cover "fix" my wrecked stock hood and cover the headlight hole, still have to cut the headlight bracket off the frame before mounting the hood

Looks good. the cut front fenders are growing on me more and more

yea i couldnt handle riding it with full fenders, from the seat it felt like i was riding a grizzly or something, i had to "sport" it up a bit. plus i dont ride in mud if i can help it

Looks good man! Hangin round those 450's really makes the old dog seem dated don't it...nice work!

thanks man! you have no idea how crappy the old warrior looks sitting next to those 450's, i get depressed that i dont have the extra cash laying around to buy the white 450 there, i can't go to my shop without sitting on at least one of them :argh:

i am heading back to trevorton pa in two weeks and i may be bringing the white 450 with me along with the warrior, so i can use the warrior to ride the trails and the 450 for the hill climbs :slayer:
