ticking noise

i started my atv up and opened it up from 0 all the way down my street and it started ticking when i came back. doesnt sound to good and wont start with the choke pulled out. and when i give it alot of gas from idle it just dies. and idea i dont know what could have caused this. its a new top end with about 20 hours on it? just changed the oil and put a new spark plug in.

Like you give it a lot of gas and then try and start it and it runs a minute and then dies?

no it will idle fine. if i push the gas in alot to fast it will die. but ticking pretty loud. either starter motor? id hate to have it be timing **** idk..
