can you disassemble the stock front shocks? i wanna clean mine up.. take the spring off and give it a good once over.. i know some shocks you compress the spring and the top perch twists off... what about our bikes?


( i would go look at mine but mine is at my buddies with another busted tie rod : boo:)
 
yea you can take the springs off, you have to compress them and slide the spring retainer thing out not hard if you have a spring compressor.
 
I got mine off before using 2 ratchet straps to compress the spring and slid the retainer out. Country boy tech but it works, just watch that you don't get your fingers between the parts in case a ratchet strap slips.
 
nice thanks.. cant wait to tear into it... i have one of those macpherson spring compressor tools so ill be ok compressing the spring..
