Stator end cover

What is the size of an bolt socket needed for the bolts on the end of the engine on the cover..i need to get it off so i can take the starter pulley bolt out from under it so i can fix my oil leak..i am not sure what size they are because i do not have the size to check and see..and the Clymer manual doesnt say

No no the very end ones.. On the plate that says Yamaha.. They go in not come out like a normal bolt...which means it will be an Allen wrench sort of deal.. I know a 6 doesn't fit and I don't have anything smaller at the moment

I don't know the size off the top of my head, but why not just go buy a set of metric allen wrenches? they're good to have on hand if/when you work on your quad.

I think it's a 4mm but yeah, just get a set. You'll always use it.
