i just picked up a 93 warrior 350 and it was running poorley idle and starting etc. so i figure i need to clean the carb i removed it the intake pipe between the carb and head had been blown out from backfires is there a way to make a new one? and on the carb where the cable goes in all that linkage on the inside is all rusty and corroded looking will that get into the fuel section and plug that up? any advice would be greatly appreciated

Buy the boot, no way around it. As far as the gable part goes, soak that area in some WD or PB and get a cover on it (I can only assume that the plastic cover is off, no other reason for that area to be rusty) it shouldn't effect how it runs other then how the cable pulls on that linkage ie; snags and stiffness.
