running rich

so i finally got my basket case warrior running and it smokes, but its not smoking because it is burning oil, it is running really rich. what could cause this? the quad is all stock with no mods. i even tried removing the air box lid and cleaning the air filter, any help would be appreciated

Im assuming since it was a basket case the gas is fresh. How many turns is the mixture screw on the bottom of the carb? Do you know what jets are in the carb?

the gas is fresh, not sure on the amount of turns the mixture screw is in, and not sure on jet sizes i will check that out tommorow.
