Rear disc

It should be perfectly flat. My guess is the pads were gone so when the rear brake was applied the caliper would pull on the disk making it dished
 
^ well almost right... the 87 was the only year that was dished....
 
Its a 88 and the disc is dished. The caliper wont slide over far enough to allow the pads to fit onto the disc is about a 1/4 of a inch away. At first I thought there were spaces between the caliper and swing arm mount.
 
post a couple pics of it,,, cause the 88's are not supose to be dished so maybe it has an 87 rearend under it,,,
 
Yeah so the rotor needs replaced. i think that happens when the brake pads are gone and the caliper will no slide on the 2 pins.
 
Won't a flat one make it worse? are you sure that the rotor is installed correctly? The dished in part goes towards the carrier iirc.
