Rear disc

Is it supposed to be dished or flat.

It should be perfectly flat. My guess is the pads were gone so when the rear brake was applied the caliper would pull on the disk making it dished

No the 87s and 88s are dished the newer are flat.

What part are you talking about being dished? the part where the brakes hit or the mounting parts?? if its the mounting part warriorkid is right.

^ well almost right... the 87 was the only year that was dished....

If you need a new one I have my old one. I just switched to the newer swing arm.

Its a 88 and the disc is dished. The caliper wont slide over far enough to allow the pads to fit onto the disc is about a 1/4 of a inch away. At first I thought there were spaces between the caliper and swing arm mount.

post a couple pics of it,,, cause the 88's are not supose to be dished so maybe it has an 87 rearend under it,,,

See the gap between the mount on the swing and the mount on the caliper, if I draw it in, it pulls the top of the caliper over and jams the top of the pads to the rotor.

Yeah so the rotor needs replaced. i think that happens when the brake pads are gone and the caliper will no slide on the 2 pins.

The one I have now is a dished and I cant get it to line up.

Won't a flat one make it worse? are you sure that the rotor is installed correctly? The dished in part goes towards the carrier iirc.
