Is there any way on these engines to prime the oil system before firing for the first time? I got my engine put all back together with the 10.5:1 piston, ported head, +1mm valve, cwr .415 cam, and vito's key

not that i know of just dont ride it for like 15 sec after first fire up then you should be good unless you added a oil cooler while you built the motor then you will want to fill that with oil first

X2 for DRW's suggestion.
As long as the pump works, you'll be fine. Dry fire up is a plain bearing engine (car/truck, etc.) problem. Roller bearings, no problemo. I used cam lube (had Comp Cams red stuff in a bottle, but anything like it would work) on the cam and regular motor oil on the piston skirts and cylinder.
