Alright boys and girls my valve seats need replacing and i plan on doing it really soon but when i do i want to self port my head or atleast smooth out the casting marks does anybody have and tips?

On the intake, remove the casting marks and flash but leave it a little rough. On the exhaust, make it smooth as glass. JMO from what I've read and done.

I don't really think that having turbulence in these little motors would make much of a performance difference?
You could smooth things out nice in the cylinder, the fuel coming threw the intake will atomize before it gets that far.

if you smooth the intake to much it wont mix well, but smooth it up to about a 400 grit bit and the exhaust smooth it up nice, port matching is the best thing to do, and polish the chamber to a DULL mirrior, to polished and it wont burn right, to rough and it wont flow, id just spend the money and have it ported but thats me..

Exactly what I did to mine. Made a big difference.

What do you all think of this port and polish job?

Polish the chamber up a bit more and dont polish the exhaust to a mirror.. its not a 2 stroke, but you do need it super smooth.
