oil filter

This is probably a really dumb question but can you clean and reuse the oil filter instead of having to buy a new one each time? if so how do you clean it?

My filter is a fine mesh type filter & yes, I clean it...if it isn't nasty gummed up you can spray it down with Brake cleaner & blow it out with compressed air. Sometimes I just swish it around in some fresh gas & blow it out with compressed air.

Yes if you have the mesh type you can clean it, but there so cheap why not buy new to be safe
